PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glucosamine-containing glucan, a modified material thereof, and a conjugate.SOLUTION: A glucosamine-containing glucan of the invention is the glucosamine-containing glucan in which a glucosamine residue is not present in any position except a nonreducing terminal of a branched &alpha；-1,4 glucan, though at least one of the glucosamine residue is linked by an &alpha；-1, 4 bond to each of two or more of the nonreducing terminals in a plurality of the nonreducing terminals of the branched &alpha；-1,4 glucan. The degree of polymerization of the glucan is 15 or more to 4×10or less. The glucosamine-containing glucan of the invention may be provided by making an &alpha；-glucan phosphorylase act on the branched &alpha；-1,4 glucan and glucosamine-1-phosphoric acid.【課題】グルコサミン含有グルカン、その修飾物及び結合体を提供すること【解決手段】本発明のグルコサミン含有グルカンは、分岐状α－１，４グルカンの複数の非還元末端のうちの２以上の非還元末端のそれぞれに少なくとも１つのグルコサミン残基がα－１，４結合しているが、該分岐状α－１，４グルカンの非還元末端以外の位置にはグルコサミン残基が存在しないグルコサミン含有グルカンであり、該グルカンの重合度が１５以上４×１０５以下である。本発明のグルコサミン含有グルカンは、分岐状α－１，４グルカンとグルコサミン－１－リン酸を含む水溶液にα－グルカンホスホリラーゼを作用させることによって提供され得る。【選択図】なし
