An adhesive that forms a wing joint section is prevented from adhering to a surface of the wing, the surface facing a side opposite underwear. An absorbent article according to the present invention comprises a pair of a first wing (41) and a second wing (42) that protrude outside of a width direction from a main body section that comprises an absorbent body, the first wing and the second wing overlapping one another in a state of being attached to underwear. The first wing comprises a first wing joint section (61) that is disposed on the underwear side. The first wing comprises a rigid element (91) that comprises a boundary along a longitudinal direction. The first wing and the second wing comprise a first wing folding line (FL1) and a second wing folding line (FL2) that respectively fold in the width direction. The boundary of the rigid element (91) overlaps with the first wing folding line. The distance between the first wing folding line and the second wing folding line is longer than a sum of the distance between the first wing folding line and a width direction outer edge of the first wing joint section and the distance between the second wing folding line and a width direction outer edge of the second wing.
