PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical instrument for more precisely controlling service life of the surgical instrument and a surgery support system having the surgical instrument.SOLUTION: In a surgical instrument distal end 200, a timer 201 is disposed which is powered when the surgical instrument distal end 200 is mounted on a positioning arm unit 100. The timer 201 counts use time of the surgical instrument distal end 200 or the number of operations when powered by the positioning arm unit 100.
