PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clothes disinfection apparatus and method in which pathogens adhered to clothes can surely be disinfected safely to the human body.SOLUTION: There is provided a clothes C disinfection method in which: a generation unit 10 of a clothes disinfection apparatus 1 atomizes slightly acidic hypochlorous acid water and generates a mist F of fine particles whose wettability when adhered to objects is lower than the wettability of a water droplet and a spraying unit 11, by spraying the mist F onto a clothes C of a user U, inactivates pathogens adhered to the clothes C.
