The present invention relates to an apparatus for eliminating motion artifacts by using a PPG signal and a method thereof. A method for eliminating motion artifacts by a motion artifact elimination apparatus according to the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving a PPG signal and three-axis (X-, Y-, and Z-axis) acceleration signals measured from an examinee; extracting the PPG signal and the three-axis acceleration signals in each period representing a predetermined unit of time, and filtering the same using a predetermined bandwidth; Fourier-transforming the PPG signal and the three-axis acceleration signals corresponding to the period where the signals have been extracted, so as to obtain frequency-domain-transformed forms; calculating frequency domain-average power of each of the three-axis accelerations, and arranging power spectrums of the X-, Y-, and Z-axis accelerations in ascending order of their average power spectrums; and extracting a final power spectrum of the PPG signal by sequentially removing, from a power spectrum of the PPG signal, the power spectrums of the X-, Y-, and Z-axis accelerations in the order of their arrangement. The present invention can stably and efficiently eliminate motion artifacts by gradually removing three-axis accelerations from a PPG signal, starting from an axis along which the acceleration has a smaller average value.La présente invention concerne un appareil d'élimination d'artefacts de mouvement en utilisant un signal PPG et un procédé associé.
