PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small size electronic apparatus mounted with an iris authentication unit capable of reliably carrying out iris authentication while preventing an Ir LED from being blocked when used.SOLUTION: An electronic apparatus 7 with a display unit 36 on a housing 5 includes an iris authentication unit 4 mounted thereon. A backlight 20 positioned on the rear face of the display unit 36 includes: a white LED 22 on one edge for illuminating a light guide plate； and an infrared ray LED 27 on the opposite edge to the edge disposed with the white LED 22. The iris authentication is carried out in such a manner that an eye E of a user is irradiated with a ray of light from the infrared ray LED 27 on the display unit 36 and is read by an infrared ray camera.
