PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a targeting material that permits drug delivery to an affected part without being influenced by an external environment such as an oxidative environment or the like by using carbon nanohorn aggregate as a drug carrier, and its manufacturing method.
SOLUTION: The targeting material comprising a carbon nanohorn aggregate holds aggregate comprised of metal fine particles in the central part of the aggregate structure of carbon nanohorn and the nanohorn includes a medicine. The manufacturing method thereof comprises a step of introducing metal fine particles into carbon nanohorn aggregate having an opening from the outside, to hold them therein, a step of closing the opening of the carbon nanohorn aggregate by a heat treatment and concentrating the metal fine particles in the central part of the aggregate structure of carbon nanohorn and a step of reopening the sheath of the carbon nanohorn by an oxidation treatment and introducing a medicine thereinto.
