PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a simple and inexpensive weed-proof structure for preventing the growth of weeds from a joint portion of a block such as a concrete block and a tile block, and a joint portion or a crack portion of placed concrete; and to obtain a construction method for the weed-proof structure. SOLUTION: This construction method for the weed-proof structure for the joint portion and/or crack portion of the surface section of the structure comprises: a step of preparing a weed-proof sheet wider than the joint portion and/or the crack portion; a step of laying the weed-proof sheet so as to at least partially cover the surface section of the structure brought into contact with a top surface of the joint portion and/or the crack portion and both the sides of the joint portion and/or the crack portion; and a step of fixing the weed-proof sheet to the surface section of the structure by driving a nail-like implement into a portion where the weed-proof sheet and the surface section of the structure overlap each other.
