PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rod piece-joined portion structure which enhances stiffness in the joined portions, well transmits vibration and improves the sensitivity, and to provide a fishing rod having the joined portion structure. SOLUTION: Boron wires are disposed between carbon prepregs 1, 2 forming the joined portion A of a front rod piece 12 in the joined portion between a rear rod piece 11 and the front rod piece 1. A prepreg containing metal wires is disposed on the surface of the joined portion A of the rear rod piece 11. Boron wires are disposed between the carbon prepregs forming the joined portion A to enhance stiffness, because of having a hybrid structure of metal fibers.
