Disclosed is a sustained release type pharmaceutical composition containing mosapride or a salt thereof. The composition has a unique two-phase elution profile (i.e., a immediate release phase and a delayed release phase), and therefore can reach an effective blood mosapride level rapidly in the initial stage and can keep the effective blood level in a sustained manner in the later stage. Even when the composition is administered once a day in a single dosage form, the pharmacological efficacy of mosapride can be increased.
