PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce time necessary for changing scan direction when forward scanning and reverse scanning are repeated.SOLUTION: The X-ray CT apparatus has a top board, rotation driving means, travel driving means and control means. An analyte is placed on the top board. The rotation driving means rotates an X-ray tube along a circular orbit surrounding the analyte. The travel driving means causes the top board to continuously travel back and forth in a first direction and in a second direction opposite to the first direction in the longitudinal direction of the top board while the rotation driving means rotates the X-ray tube.
