PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface sheet of an absorbent article excelling in dry feeling and leakage preventiveness by hardly causing liquid flow or liquid return.
SOLUTION: The surface sheet 2 of the absorbent article is formed of a nonwoven fabric composed mainly of hydrophobic fiber. A skin abutting surface 2a is formed with hydrophilic regions 22 to which a hydrophilic agent is applied, and a large number of hydrophobic regions 23 surrounded with the hydrophilic regions 22. In a portion 20 having the hydrophilic region 22 in the surface sheet 2, the hydrophilic degree on the skin non-abutting surface 20b side is lower than that on the skin abutting surface 20a side. The absorbent article is provided with the surface sheet 2 of such constitution.
