PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pair of functional scissors, to which a function corresponding to the usage is added for convinience, such as cutting shifted sections in opening a medicine pouch so that medicine can be easily taken in addition to general cutting function of the scissors. SOLUTION: In a pair of cutting blades in a general pair of scissors, a friction bar is disposed in parallel in front of an edge of at least one cutting blade, and a means brought into sliding contact with a material to be cut prior to cutting is provided. The friction bar is fitted with a device adapted to usage. One end of the friction bar is journaled to be rotated with the cutting blade, and moved to the position where it comes into sliding contact with the material to be cut and to the position where it does not come into sliding contact with it to be locked.
