To provide a sphygmomanometer which includes a body 2 and a cylindrical cuff 3 attached to be rotatable about a rotation axis D horizontal relative to the body 2 and allows subjects with various body types to easily insert an upper arm into the cuff 3 so that they can take a right measuring posture in a short period of time.SOLUTION: In a sphygmomanometer in the invention, a side of a rear surface 3f which is opposite from a side of a front surface 3e arranged to face a subject in measuring a blood pressure is attached to a rotation axis D in a cuff 3. An oscillation mechanism 60, in a waiting state in which an upper arm is not inserted into the cuff 3, keeps an inclination angle θ of a central axis C of the cuff 3 relative to a horizontal surface H at a prescribed waiting angle θs and also allows the inclination angle θ of the cuff 3 to change to be larger or smaller from the waiting angle θs by inserting the upper arm into the cuff 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7【課題】本体２と、この本体２に対して水平な回転軸Ｄの周りに回動可能に取り付けられた筒状のカフ３とを備えた血圧計であって、様々な体型の被測定者がカフ３に上腕を容易に挿入でき、正しい測定姿勢を短時間でとれるものを提供すること。【解決手段】この発明の血圧計では、カフ３は、血圧測定時に被測定者に面して配される前面３ｅ側とは反対の後面３ｆ側が回転軸Ｄに取り付けられている。揺動機構６０は、カフ３に上腕が挿入されていない待機状態で、カフ３の中心軸Ｃの水平面Ｈに対する傾角θを或る待機角度θｓに維持するとともに、カフ３に上腕が挿入されることによって、カフ３の傾角θが待機角度θｓから大または小のいずれに変わるのも許容する。【選択図】図７
