PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial culture medium for mushroom enabling short-term cultivation of mushroom having favorable shape and size in a high yield and to provide a method for artificially cultivating mushroom using the artificial culture medium.SOLUTION: Add-in material for mushroom cultivation includes an inorganic salt whose aqueous solution shows acidity, and at least one selected from aluminum calcium silicate glass, an oxide of alkaline earth metal, complex oxide of alkaline earth metal, hydroxide of alkaline earth metal, complex hydroxide of alkaline earth metal and hydrotalcite, wherein the highest pH detected by a Fuchs method test is 3.5-4.5. The artificial culture medium for mushroom is provided.
