PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a novel porous photocatalyst body which is capable of achieving both of bacteria elimination and virus inactivation with respect to a processing object by using titanium oxide.SOLUTION: A method of producing a porous photocatalyst body includes: preparing a rod forming, around the rod, a porous sedimentary layer with particles containing a crystal phase of titanium oxide by CVD method while supplying a first raw material gas containing silicon and a second raw material gas containing titanium and pulling out the rod from the sedimentary layer.
