The present invention provides pharmaceutical compositions suitable for direct compression into tablets, characterized by comprising valsartan or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof with a mean particle size (d50) in the range of 15 to 60 µm and amlodipine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof with a mean particle size (d50) in the range of 2 to 20 µm. The invention also relates to a novel method of preparing pharmaceutical tablets involving direct compression of the composition according to the present invention.
