PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface sheet for an absorbent article in which a body fluid is less likely to move in a planar direction of the surface sheet, and the body fluid is more likely to move further to an absorber on a non-skin facing surface side from the surface sheet.SOLUTION: A surface sheet 2 for an absorbent article 1 is formed of a non-woven fabric constituted by a thermoplastic fiber as a main constituent. The surface sheet 2 has a first hydrophilicity region and a second hydrophilicity region that have different hydrophilicities on skin-facing surfaces. The first hydrophilicity region comprises a plurality of continuous lines 6. Each of the continuous lines 6 in the first hydrophilicity region forms an angle relative to a longitudinal direction X and a horizontal direction Y. The plurality of the continuous lines 6 in the first hydrophilicity region intersect with each other and define a plurality of partitioned regions DT that become the second hydrophilicity region.
