PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary type light irradiation apparatus that is simple in construction, and is able to be inserted into a thinner blood vessel than conventional without damaging it, irradiate light to the thin blood vessel it was inserted into precisely in the radial direction of the blood vessel, is uneasy to be subject to the interferences of electromagnetic waves from outside the apparatus or the apparatus itself, and stably and smoothly irradiate the thin blood vessel with light precisely in its radial direction.
SOLUTION: It is a rotary type light irradiating apparatus, wherein it includes a light irradiating part 3 to irradiate an object with light, a rotary driving part 4 to rotate the light irradiating part 3, and a light transmission part 2 to guide light to the light irradiating part 3. The rotary driving part 4 includes a light deformation device 43 deformed by irradiation with driving light. The light deformation device 43 generates rotary driving forces by its deformation. The light irradiating part 3 takes part of the transmitted light as the irradiation light. The light transmission part 2 has a common signal line for the transmission of irradiation light and driving light.
