To provide a method for producing mousse-like food preservable, keepable, distributable and sellable while retaining an excellent condition at normal temperature and to provide the mousse-like food having the properties.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the mousse-like food includes heating a mixture containing a coagulator and saccharide and water to let the mixture have &le 0.92 water activity value and 60-80 Brix% sugar content value, adding fruit juice and/or spice to the mixture and adding whipped cream to bring the water activity value of the mixture thus obtained to &le 0.92 and the sugar content value to 60-80 Brix% and solidifying the mixture. The mousse-like food produced by the method and having &le 0.92 water activity value and 60-80 Brix% sugar content value is also provided.
