The present invention relates to a method of preventing or reducing one or more adverse post-anaesthetic effects in a patient, comprising treating the patient with low level laser therapy (LLLT) prior to anaesthesia and/or during anaesthesia and/or following anaesthesia, and to a method for assessing whether a patient is at risk of suffering from adverse post-anaesthetic effects, comprising determining whether the patient contains a polymorphism in a gene encoding one of the following proteins: (a) protein associated with assembly and disassembly of microtubules； (b)ion channel protein； (c) membrane stability protein； (d) Melanocortin systems proteins； (e) proteins associated with Alzheimer's and/or Parkinson's vulnerability； or (f) proteins associated with migraine.La présente invention concerne un procédé de prévention ou de réduction d'un ou plusieurs effets indésirables post-anesthésiques chez un patient, comprenant le traitement du patient par une thérapie à laser à taux faible (LLLT) avant l'anesthésie et/ou pendant l'anesthésie et/ou après l'anesthésie, et un procédé pour évaluer si un patient présente un risque de souffrir d'effets indésirables post-anesthésie, comprenant la détermination si le patient contient un polymorphisme dans un gène codant pour l'une des protéines suivantes : (a) une protéine associée à l'assemblage et au désassemblage des microtubules ； (b) une protéine de canal ionique ； (c) une protéine de stabilité membranaire ； (d) des protéines du système de la mélanocortine ； (e) des protéines associées à la vulnérabilité à la maladie d'Alzheimer et/ou la maladie de Parkinson ； ou (f) des protéines associées à la migraine.
