The invention relates to a roboticsystem for laparoscopic surgery, comprising asupporting structure (230) having at least one arm(210 220) slidably connected thereto. Each arm (210220) includes a first element and a second element(300 400) hinged to one another. The first element(300) is rotatably hinged to the supporting structure(230) and can rotate about a longitudinal axis (L1),while the second element (400) can receive a hingehaving at least two degrees of freedom (550) for thepurpose of connecting a tool (900). The longitudinalaxis (L1) of the first element (300) is substantiallyperpendicular to the hinge axis (L2) of the firstelement (300) and the second element (400). Theinvention provides a simplified architecture thatallows the tool secured to the arm (210 220) to bemoved precisely and effectively.
