PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily observe an expansion image of an internal organ having a branch.
SOLUTION: A luminal area extraction part 10c extracts a luminal area, and a core line extraction part 10d extracts a core line of the luminal area. A coordinate extraction part 10e extracts the coordinate group of intersections of line segments radially extended from respective points on the plurality of core lines through branching points and the edge part of the luminal area. An expansion image generation part 10f generates an expansion image for each core line using the coordinate group. An overlapping area extraction part 10g extracts an area occupied by coordinates within a predetermined range among the coordinate groups of the respective core lines as an overlapping area. A positioning part 10h positions the plurality of expansion images using the coordinates of the overlapping area. A composite image generation part 10i generates a composite image from the plurality of positioned expansion images so that only one of image areas corresponding to the coordinates of the overlapping area becomes a front surface. A display control part 10j displays the composite image at a display part 10b.
