Provided is a composition comprising at least one of an extract of Perilla frutescens and an extract of Lygodium japonicum showing excellent anti-bacterial effect on Propionibacterium acnes, which is main causing bacteria of acne, so as to be used for treating and preventing the acne. The composition for preventing and treating acne comprises 0.01-10 wt.% of at least one extract selected from the group consisting of an extract of Perilla frutescens and an extract of Lygodium japonicum, which is prepared by cold-dipping Perilla frutescens or Lygodium japonicum in a solvent selected from the group consisting of purified water, ethanol, propanol, butanol, glycerol, propylene glycol, 1,3-butylene glycol, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, benzene, hexane, diethylether, dichloromethane and a mixture thereof, and evaporating the solvent from an extract or freeze-drying the extract.본 발명은 여드름 발병의 주원인 균으로 알려진 프로피오니박테리움아크네스(Propionibacterium acnes)에 대하여 항균 작용이 뛰어난 소엽(Perilla frutescens) 및/또는 해금사(Lygodium japonicum) 추출물을 함유하여 여드름의 예방 및 치료 효과가 우수한 조성물에 관한 것이다.
