PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing packed boiled rice eatable as puffy delicious packed boiled rice like just-boiled rice when heat processing and eating packed boiled rice which becomes cool and lump in a boiled rice storage container, and a packed boiled rice loosening machine to be used for the same.SOLUTION: A method is for processing packed boiled rice which is boiled in a sterilized room followed by being stored in a boiled rice storage container 1, or subjected to sterilization treatment or deoxidation treatment followed by storage in the boiled rice storage container 1, or stored in the boiled rice storage container 1 followed by being subjected to sterilization treatment, and is capable of being preserved for a long period at normal temperature.
