PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a rice ball made of steamed glutinous rice by which a rice ball made of steamed glutinous rice for sale in a convenience store, a supermarket or the like is produced in an integrated manufacture.SOLUTION: The method for producing a rice ball made of steamed glutinous rice comprises: the process for coating the surfaces of rice grains of steamed rice with seasoning liquid containing seaweed-originated polysaccharide the process for rapidly cooling the coated steamed rice with a vacuum cooling machine and the process for molding the rapidly cooled steamed rice into a rice ball using a rice ball molding device. The method additionally comprises a twice-repeated steaming process prior to the rapidly cooling process.
