Pharmaceutical composition comprising a conjugate comprising one or more bioactive components selected from the group consisting of a peptide, a protein and a glycoprotein covalently bound to at least one linear or branched polyethylene glycol, wherein said polyethylene glycol, if linear, has a group hydroxyl at the end that is not attached to the bioactive component or components ("the distal end") or, if branched, has a hydroxyl group at each distal end, and wherein said polyethylene glycol is attached to a single bioactive component at a single site in the polyethylene glycol, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or excipient, characterized in that the conjugate is 95% or more pure, preferably 98% or more, more preferably 99% or more, or 100%, and wherein said at least one linear or branched polyethylene glycol has a molecular mass of 10 kDa to 30 kDa.Composición farmacéutica que comprende un conjugado que comprende uno o varios componentes bioactivos seleccionados del grupo que consiste en un péptido, una proteína y una glucoproteína covalentemente unida a al menos un polietilenglicol lineal o ramificado, en donde dicho polietilenglicol, si es lineal, tiene un grupo hidroxilo en el extremo que no está unido al componente o componentes bioactivos ("el extremo distal") o, si es ramificado, tiene un grupo hidroxilo en cada extremo distal, y en donde dicho polietilenglicol está unido a un solo componente bioactivo en un solo sitio en el polietilenglicol, y un excipiente o vehículo farmacéuticamente aceptable, caracterizado por que el conjugado está puro al 95% o más, preferiblemente al 98% o más, más preferiblemente al 99% o más, o al 100%, y en donde dicho al menos un polietilenglicol lineal o ramificado tiene una masa molecular de 10 kDa a 30 kDa.
