PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which gives a wearer soft touch at a part where components stretching in an oblique direction cross in the absorbent article which forms an embossment pattern that has components stretching in an oblique direction by compressing a surface sheet and an absorber together.SOLUTION: An absorbent article has a liquid permeable surface sheet 14, a liquid impermeable rear surface sheet 11, and an absorber 13 arranged between the surface sheet and the rear surface sheet, and has a compression part formation area provided with a plurality of compression columns where a plurality of recesses 21 where the surface sheet and the absorber are compressed are arranged. The compression columns have: first compression columns 22a which pass a crotch from the abdominal side of a wearer when the absorbent article is worn and extends inclined to one side with respect to a virtual line leading up to the back side and second compression columns 22b extending inclined to the other side.
