The device for the painless and minimally invasive parenteral administration of pharmaceutical preparations and sampling of blood consists of: a cuff similar to that used when measuring arterial pressure, which is provided with a mounting frame for accommodating a sliding disc that consists of a movable front disc half and a movable rear disc half situated at a set distance from one another, said rear disc half being provided with a channel for accommodating a cassette cartridge for a cassette with needles a phial of anaesthetic and a scanning device. Upon compression of the disc halves, the scanning device locates a vein, a sound or light signal is given off, and the disc halves lock in the appropriate position. A member of medical staff or the patient himself sprays the anaesthetic, then, after the period of time required for the anaesthetic to take effect, the needle is introduced into the blood stream by pressing on the lid of the cassette. The lid slides back and the tip of a syringe or of the cannula of a blood transfusion system or of the cannula of an evacuated blood sample container is introduced via a hermetic aperture situated beneath the lid.
