PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical lighting system improved to avoid a case in which it unexpectedly falls during mounting/demounting work of a translucent cover.SOLUTION: The medical lighting system 10 includes a frame 11, a light source 12 held by the frame 11, and the translucent cover 13 detachably mounted on the irradiation side part of the frame 11. The translucent cover 13 can be kept in the condition of being mounted on the frame 11 via first and second lock mechanisms 14, 17, and an elastic means 18 exists in an area where the translucent cover 13 is mounted on the frame 11.
