PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cooking alcohols with high effect of deodorizing unpleasant odor generated when cooking of the food material is carried out.SOLUTION: There are provided the cooking alcohols which contain 2-furaldehyde of 1.0 mg/L or more, 5-methyl-2-furaldehyde of 0.3 mg/L or more, and 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furaldehyde of 0.1 mg/L or more, and alcohol concentration of a final product is 1-60 v/v%. A composition using onion in at least a part of raw material, a composition belonging to white distilled liquor are desirable. There are provided a method for treating of food materials using the cooking alcohols, a deodorizing method of unpleasant odor, a method for improving texture and processed food processed with the cooking alcohols.
