PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair type massage machine capable of performing a wide variety of automatic raising operations including not performing the automatic raising, performing the automatic raising to a necessary stage, and performing automatic tilting as needed.SOLUTION: A chair type massage machine includes: a seat part 10, a backrest part 20 connected in a reclinable manner to the rear side of the seat part 10 a footrest part 30 connected to the front side of the seat part 10 in a vertically swingable manner an armrest part 40 erected on both sides of the seat part 10 an automatic raising mechanism for automatically raising the backrest part 20 control means for controlling the automatic raising mechanism and status data detecting means for detecting status data of the backrest part 20 or a person to be treated.
