PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a massage machine that avoids anything including part of a human body being caught between the massage unit in descending motion and the patients seat.SOLUTION: This chair-type massage machine is provided with a seat (12), a backrest (13) and a massage unit (11) equipped with a treatment tool (for instance, treatment balls 14a, 14b) installed on the backrest (13) in the way that it can go up and down along it. The massage machine also has a controller (for instance, a control unit G) and a sensing means (for instance, limit switches 16, 21, 25) that is provided at the lower part of the massage unit (11) and senses that anything is caught between the massage unit (11) and the seat (12).
