The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition and functional health foods comprising extract of lees of Korean rice wine as an active ingredient for preventing or treating obesity and, more specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition and functional health foods comprising ethylacetate fraction produced from ethanol extract of the lees of Korean rice wine as an active ingredient for preventing or treating obesity. The extract of the lees of Korean rice wine, especially the ethanol extract or ethylacetate fraction of the lees of Korean rice wine, as the active ingredient of the pharmaceutical composition and functional health foods of the present invention suppresses adipogenesis of mouse preadipocyte cell strain, and reduces expression of PPAR&gamma；, adiponectin, and SCD-1 gene related to adipogenesis and lipid metabolism. Therefore the active ingredient can be applied to medicine and foods for preventing, alleviating, and treating the obesity.본 발명은 주박(酒粕) 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 비만(Obesity)의 예방 또는 치료용 약학적 조성물 및 건강 기능 식품에 관한 것으로서, 보다 구체적으로는, 주박의 에탄올(Ethanol) 추출물로부터 제조되는 에틸아세테이트(Ethylacetate) 분획물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 비만의 예방 또는 치료용 약학적 조성물 및 건강 기능 식품에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 약학적 조성물 및 건강 기능 식품의 유효성분으로서의 주박 추출물, 특히, 주박의 에탄올 추출물 또는 에틸아세테이트 분획물은 마우스 전지방 세포주의 지방 세포 형성을 억제하고, 지방 형성 및 지질 대사와 관련된 PPARγ, 아디포넥틴 및 SCD-1 유전자의 발현을 감소시키는 효과가 있으므로, 상기 유효성분은 비만의 예방, 개선 및 치료용도로서 의약품 및 식품에 적용될 수 있다.
