PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which has three-dimensional gathers for a waist that are raised effectively and effectively prevents a leak of excrement from a waist opening part.

In the diaper 1A, the three-dimensional gathers 7 for a waist having elastic members 71 disposed in a width direction (X direction) are placed in the width direction (X direction) at least in the back side part A and are formed by having an extension part 72 toward the crotch part C. In the diaper 1A, the absorber 4 has a concave notch part 42 at an end 41 in the longitudinal direction (Y direction) in the back side part A where the three-dimensional gathers 7 for a waist are disposed.
