An ocular irrigation device and method are provided including an ocular lenshaving selectedstructural features that facilitate flow of irrigation fluid to the eyethrough the ocular lens introduced by asource of irrigating fluid. The selected structural features achieve one ormore objectives with respect tocontrol of irrigation fluid so that selected portions of the eye and eyelidsmay be more effectively irrigatedand treated. Control of the irrigation fluid by the invention includesvariables of fluid flow characteristics toinclude control of flow velocity, flow volume, flow direction, and flowturbidity. Selected structural featuresof the ocular lens may address one or more of these variables alone or inselected combinations to provide anoptimal method for treating a patient.
