PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent intestinal inflammation inhibitor containing a specific lactic acid bacteria which may exhibit a combined effect with β-carotene, and to provide foods containing the intestinal inflammation inhibitor.SOLUTION: The invention relates to an intestinal inflammation inhibitor characterized by containing a fungus body of Lactobacillus brevis KB290 (Accession number NITE P-1537) or a fermentation product thereof as an active ingredient. The Lactobacillus brevis KB290 is preferred to be contained in the amount of 1×108 or more CFU/g.
