PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve impermeability of rising gathers.SOLUTION: In an absorbent article having rising gathers 60 rising from the surface along a block position for excrement, the rising gather 60 comprises: a root part 65 attached to the outside of the block position in the absorbent article； a body part 66 projecting from the root part 65； a lodging part 67 formed due to that both ends in a block position extension direction in the body part 66 are fixed in a lodging state on an article surface； a gather nonwoven fabric 62 having a rising part 68 formed due to that a part between the lodging parts 67 in the body part 66 is not fixed； and a gather elastic member 63 attached at least to the tip of the rising part 68.
