A disclosed method for producing a pet animal feed using larva of an insect grown by feeding a medicinal extract bark comprises the following steps: a first step for preparing the medicinal extract bark by pulverizing the medicinal extract bark prepared as remnants remaining by extracting a liquid phase from a set medicinal herb, with the particle size of 5 mm or less； a second step of adding a wet feed prepared as an organic material to the medicinal extract bark pulverized by the first step； a third step of feeding the pulverized medicinal extract bark and the organic matters mixed with other by the second step to the larva of the insect； a fourth step of collecting the larva of the insect which has been grown by the third step； and a fifth step of preparing the pet animal feed by sequentially performing a washing process, a dehydrating process, a drying process, a defatting process, a pulverizing process and a sterilizing process of the insect larva collected in the fourth step.
