The present invention relates to cabazitaxel for use in a method for treating an AR-V7 -positive patient suffering from prostate cancer comprising determining the AR-V7-status in said patient and administering cabazitaxel. The invention also relates to a method of identifying patients with prostate cancer, eligible for treatment with cabazitaxel comprising testing a biological sample from the patient for the presence of AR-V7 circulating tumor cells, wherein the patient is eligible for treatment with said cabazitaxel if circulating tumor cells in said sample test positive for AR-V7. The invention further relates to a kit of parts for determining the AR-V7-status in isolated tumor cells of a patient with prostate cancer.La présente invention concerne le cabazitaxel destiné à être utilisé dans un procédé de traitement d'un patient positif pour l'AR-V7, souffrant d'un cancer de la prostate, comprenant les étapes consistant à déterminer l'état de AR-V7 chez ledit patient et à administrer le cabazitaxel. L'invention concerne également un procédé d'identification de patients atteints du cancer de la prostate et qualifiés pour recevoir le traitement par le cabazitaxel, ledit procédé comprenant l'étape consistant à tester un échantillon biologique prélevé sur le patient à la recherche de la présence de cellules tumorales circulantes AR-V7, le patient étant qualifié pour recevoir le traitement par ledit cabazitaxel si des cellules tumorales circulantes dans ledit échantillon sont testées positives pour l'AR-V7. L'invention concerne également un nécessaire d'éléments qui permettent de déterminer l'état de AR-V7 dans des cellules tumorales isolées d'un patient atteint du cancer de la prostate.
