The present invention discloses a pharmaceutical composition for the treatmentofcardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases which comprises Radix SalviaeMiltiorrhizaeextract 5.0%-70.0%, Radix Notoginseng extract 10.0%-85.0%, Radix Astragaliextract5.0%-70.0%, and Borneol or oil of Lignum Dalbergiae Odoriferae 1.0%-15.0%. Thecomposition is active against cerebral ischemia and myocardial ischemia. Theeffects aresuperior to total phenic acid of Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae or total saponinof RadixNotoginseng respectively, or the combination thereof. The composition of theinventioncan provide various kinds of preparations by the addition of variousaccessories. Thus theinvention provides a more effective and convenient composition of TCMeffectivesections and its preparations.
