PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalytic activity accelerator capable of supplementing the photolysis action of a visible light responsive photocatalyst and promoting its photocatalytic activity irrespective of the kind of the catalysts to be used, a visible light responsive photocatalyst used together with the catalytic activity accelerator and an efficient photolysis method of environmental pollution organic substances using the visible light responsive catalyst.

SOLUTION: The catalytic activity accelerator of the visible light responsive photocatalyst configured by containing a copper compound. The catalytic activity accelerator where the copper compound is at least one kind of compound selected from copper (I) oxide, copper (II) oxide, copper (II) nitride and copper sulfate. The catalytic activity accelerator where the visible light responsive catalytic accelerator is a tungsten compound. The visible light responsive photocatalyst used together with these catalytic activity accelerators. The photolysis method of environmental pollution organic substances using these visible light responsive photocatalysts.
