PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting complexion and a method thereof, an apparatus for evaluating health status using information about the complexion and a method thereof, and an apparatus for generating a health status classification function with a high accuracy and a method thereof are provided to easily evaluate a physical condition of a person using a profile, constitution, and complexion, thereby enabling a preventive healthcare. CONSTITUTION: A complexion image is obtained by taking a photograph of the face of a user with a color reference chart(310). The complexion image is corrected based on the pixel information relevant to the color reference chart(320). A facial feature point of the user is extracted from the corrected complexion image(330). At least one complexion region is extracted using the facial feature point(340). Information about the complexion is generated using the pixel value of the each of the pixels included in the complexion region(350).
