589547 Disclosed is solid rasagiline (also known as R(+)-N-propargyl-1-aminoindan / (R)-N-(prop-2-ynyl)-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-amine) containing water at an amount of less than 0.5% by weight wherein said rasagiline may be obtainable by exposing solid rasagiline to a temperature of between 23 DEGREE C and 35 DEGREE C and a pressure of between 4-47 mbar for an amount of time suitable to dry the solid rasagiline. Further disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition comprising crystalline rasagiline as defined above and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, wherein said crystalline rasagiline has an X-ray diffraction pattern having peaks at 8.5, 12.6, 16.1 and 16.9.
