The present invention provides an additive (additive for orally administered composition) useful for preparing an orally administered composition (food/drink or orally administered medicine) and capable of imparting at least one effect selected from the group consisting of salivation-promoting effects, swallowing-improving effects (swallowing-assisting effects), and chewing-improving effects (chewing-assisting effects) to an orally administered composition.
