The present invention relates to the yeast strain Saccharomyces cerevisiae number CNCM I-3856 for the treatment and/or prevention of oropharyngeal infections by Candida. This strain has shown a strong ability to reduce living fungi in the oral cavity and to prevent the propagation of the infection by Candida to the esophagus, the stomach and the small intestine.La présente invention concerne la souche de levure Saccharomyces cerevisiae numéro CNCM I-3856 pour le traitement et/ou la prévention d'infections oropharyngées par Candida. Cette souche a en effet montré une forte capacité à réduire la charge fongique dans la cavité buccale, et à empêcher la propagation de l'infection par Candida à l'œsophage, l'estomac et l'intestin grêle.
