Multi-dose ophthalmic composition comprising: a therapeutic agent itsellyulozny polymer at a concentration sufficient for self conversion composition into a gel, said cellulosic polymer is essentially a polymer of a cellulose ester, wherein: i) said composition is substantially free of any antioxidants which would otherwise act as scavengers free radicals and inhibit oxidation reactions in the composition and ii) said composition has a pH of from 6.0 to 8,5.2.
