PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorant which demonstrates a stable and high deodorant performance to various odor components, especially, unsaturated aliphatic aldehyde which is a causative agent of heated cooking oil odor and sebum odor or the like.
SOLUTION: The deodorant contains the following components (A): ferric chloride, and (B): 4-9C aliphatic compound having two hydroxy groups, not containing nitrogen atoms, and which may have ether linkage. A method for deodorizing bad odor, which has unsaturated aliphatic aldehyde as the causative agent, uses the deodorant.
