[Problem] To provide a medical observation instrument capable of enhancing the convenience of a user when using the medical observation instrument. [Solution] Provided is a medical observation instrument equipped with: an arm which is formed by coupling a plurality of links to each other via joints, and which has at least three degrees of freedom enabled by rotational movements about rotational axes； an imaging device supported by the arm； and an arm control unit which controls movement of the arm.
