The present invention provides an assistive gaze and image-forming focusing device that is made up of a lighting system, an image forming system, a focusing device, and a gaze device. The lighting system projects an inspection light to illuminate ophthalmic fundus of an inspection subject. The image forming system receives a reflected light from the inspection subject and an image of the ophthalmic fundus and comprises an image displayer to form an image with the reflected light and the ophthalmic fundus image. The focusing device comprises an image splitting screen structure in the lighting system and an adjusting means for forming focus of the split image, in collaboration with the image splitting screen, in the image forming system. The gaze device is located in the lighting system to form a gaze surface, and the gaze surface comprises a plurality of gaze points that generate contrast with respect to the inspection light. The present invention directly combines the gaze and focusing devices with the lighting system and image forming system so that no additional optic path system is needed, thereby greatly simplifying the optic path structure of an ophthalmic fundus camera.
